hello
today i tested why i always felt reverb was adding to much volume to the signal see below unlisted video where i use no triggers whatsoever and the reverb is always at 0 mix level
notice how i wired all first and that i have reverb mix level at 0 then see how it adds volume while nothing is added on my 2 gains, at the end i recorded another part where i disconnect the reverb and then the extra volume is gone (sorry i have no fancy video editor i just stiched them)
for the purpose of this test i have no midi triggers and the audio trigger part disconnected
i setup a patch that shows it at a glance
Reverb Volume Example.mnprtz (73.1 KB)

also since what i put in is absolutely equal on left and right and not when coming out is also an oddity there is probably more going on here
see this is with full mix level
i could not resist to now also test reverb 2 and that shows a slightly different result
Reverb 2 Volume Example.mnprtz (78.3 KB)

notice the switch at around 0.500 to be precise this is the last position it is still equal
looking back at my first look video i always needed to pull the out level fader down so this is not some meter glitch well atleast not in reverb 1 that i use in my trigger reverb
ive tried a bunch more effects (including convolver, delay, bitcrush just some randoms) but did not find another that does this but did not try all
i consider this partly fixed
see there must be a problem if pushing the reverb suddenly changes the left right balance so much and bolt reverb and reverb 2 do it differently
the meters you see are input left right and output left right, the output should always be equal in left and right atleast because it always is going in
reverb 1

reverb 2

see here i do the same with a stereo delay its mix level, seams fine

its like something is crosswired because the difference ends up being 6db between left and right from the looks of it. also it seams to switch around 0.5 always so perhaps some value is bidirectional where it should be linear
Hi Peter, I looked into it. whti is how a stereo reverb works: each side is made a little different so it sounds wide, and with a single pure tone that shows up as one side being louder. Set the sines to 392 Hz and it’s the right side that gets louder. With normal sounds it evens out.
If you need it centred, turn Width down. At 0 both sides are the same.
cool learned something today and i can complete my trigger series template aswell thnx mario
haha i showed mnodes to a friend and whitin a week he has become an total addict we always inspired each other with music so is nice thnx mario
