FR: User defined Node colours with descriptive text

Feature request to
a) allow user to define additional node colours
b) allow user to assign optional short descriptive text to all colours (builtin and user defined) presented in the node right-click menu. These descriptions would act as a legend or a hint as to the meaning of the node colours.

Colour descriptions and additional colours saved as part of a users workspace settings.

Example:
Purple Data Send/Receive
Blue Panel Widget
Turquoise Sub Data In
Gold Sub Data Out

That would actually be really useful for those of us who are colorblind.

Yeah that’s nice. In the video in this post you can see comfyui’s palette that appears when you select a node (or multiple nodes). There you can change the color right away:

Currently to change params of a node that belong into the “general” catagory you have to go into the contect menü of that node and find the option you are looking for. There is no other way doing it. A nicer approach would be to have a “context palette” that displays functions and options that you need often when working with nodes. COmfyui which is used for AI processing also has nodes and already provides this nice “context palette”. Look at this to see what I mean: [02-09-2026_08-10-12] S…
