Trigger Reverb (Functional W.I.P)

at this point a working proof of concept i do want to make some changes

  • remove idle mix and replace it with a dry and a wet mix knob, this will transform the way the envelope works because then the envelope is just disconnected from overall level
  • make a note selector for what note triggers it
  • needs channel selector and i hope we get a port node aswell
  • split out the preset system so i have a separated one for your shapes (have to think about this)

! if you use midi you do need a midi out and on that the trigger notes at whatever note and for now on midi channel 1 and port is up to you. and do not forget to edit the in port/channel in your daw aswell on the fx itself

! audio trigger is less reliable because it is dependent on your threshold settings you need to find the right level for threshold useualy somewhere low

(File deleted on user’s request)

the presets where saved in a state where mnodes was broken with radio controls but mario fixed that so if something looks of set controls as you like them and update that should fix it

also avoid port 0

changed the color scheme, next build in pre and post meteriing and level faders before i replace idle mix with an envelope range knob

made a mistake in this patch shared above because i only today realized that signal gate needs one for the left and one for the right combining it into one is wrong, anyway i will work on this in some mnodes updates to complete it.

this will be the next project i complete because these principles i can apply to a whole series of midi controlled fx and i would also like to share this logic for switching between midi or audio trigger to run a multi envelope just once on the hub for others to get ideas from

ill put the patch back in soon

trying out my w.i.p. Trigger Reverb (a reverb with a build in automation lane for the mix level that can be triggered by incoming audio or a midi trigger)

  • i am using fl’s bypass coz my own is not connected jet
  • also the gui is not ready i am just testing how it sounds to skip the transient and add the reverb mix a bit later and also some echo type stuff so basicly just trying it out on a small testrun to see if it is even doing what i wanted (it does)

it can also be used as a reverb ducker where you have a constant mix level and then put your multienvelope start at the same level as idle mix

the channel it is on i intent to put more mnodes stuff on as time progresses

looking great!

Very interesting. Gives me all kinds of ideas!!

great i love seeing your ideas

I have not played with the gui part of mnodes yet… that’s amazing!

My compliments for the design Octa, watching your video. As in your topic you said that the gui is not ready but for what it’s now already, i think it looks as a job done well already. Clean look, enough space.. readable, not to overwhelming.

:+1:

thnx danny  yeah some minor alignment to do and i think i remove all orange from bottom buttons, few text isnt d4d4d4 jet

thinking to make the lowest possible note a bypass toggle that would also solve one tiny problem i have with the note selector triggering the envelope once if i turn it all the way down

and it would add more possibilities because the out fader can then be bypassed together with how you could bypass a trigger by not putting a note there

test

probably even better if that also became a selectable note haha love a good morning plan

edit: after thinking about it it is gonna be a bypass note for just the output fader difference because ultimately what inspired this reverb is part of what i need to create these crazy snares current value used to make a lot. i want big rooms and no tails and being able to do it all without a volume difference between a processed and non processed note

edit: this feature came to mind due to volume differences i found, however i think its a bug and i posted that in a bug report. so this feature i will be deleting again

i have it in a state where i could just replace the fx with another fx so getting closer to release some bundle  i want to build in some things to change orange to another colour so i can pretty much make a new fx in like 5 min to make my life easy

i am not to sure i keep the preset system because right now there is no merging so i think i rather have my fx’s name there then and perhaps update later on with who knows what other option aswell (i hope i can put the audio wave form also on the gui)
