I’ve come to the conclusion that I can build just about anything I want in MNodes. But one thing is tripping me up. Trying to make a beat slicer but struggling with ideas on how to do it. Yes I can manually take drum audio and manually make 1 slice and trigger it to play but that’s not really a beat slicer. Automatic detection of transients with deliberate selection of which slice to play when is what I’m looking for.
Looking for suggestions on an approach. Thanks!
i can be wrong ofc but i dont think you can right now unless you know some code to convert to nucli perhaps
edit alot of these algo’s atleast the good ones come with fees to use them
I put this together pretty quickly using Assist. Download it, use it, tweak it and grab whatever you need to build your own project.
Beat Slicer – Mario Nieto World
Great! Can’t wait to give it a go. Thank you.
I did make a crude slicer with an audio player that does some maths to split the sample into evenly spaced slices and then triggers each slice via a sequencer. It’s only really useful with samples that have hits that are perfectly aligned to the grid.
If I were to do it via transient detection, I’d look for zero crossings and then look for big jumps in audio after the zero crossing, although not all hits occur on zero crossings due to tailsfrom other drums. You might be able to look at how the audio slopes up on hits.
