A node that subtracts or adds from a controls value

hello

i think it would be usefull to have a node that can subtract /add a value from the value a knob or fader is already on

some context it is way to diffecult to build a autogain ive spend over 10 hours with not even getting a clue on how to proceed

cheers

Just curious, how would the node you want differ from the addition or subtraction nodes? Apologies if this is a dumb question.

I have the same question. Even for audio, we could use Sig Add, Sig Multiply, or Volume.

i am just trying to distract the difference from audio coming in and out so i can put the out so that it is eaqual again

but this becomes quite complicated when you are dealing with rms and peak values so i thought maybe the easy way is to just have a node

because on my fader it is -60 to 12 then the output in db peak and then the detection rms db

honnestly i am just done trying makes me wanna trow my pc in the pool

Don’t worry, it’s normal to hit complicated points during development. Have you had a look at the post and patch I shared with you?

thnx mario i did but could not wrap my mind around having to deal with an attack and release then vs a window wherein a rms value is taken on the sig to rms stereo. i do know how to get only the highest from l/r in and out and then end up with the difference as a number (in peak db or rms db) i just cant take it from there i think the hickup is that i want my meters in peak and i must measure in rms as it should dont get me wrong

but ive spend way to much time getting more frustrated i just take a break from this for now and scap the feature for first version
